Neurodiverse coaching workshops for parents

Register for Free Support Workshops for Parents/ Carers of Neurodivergent Children

We’re pleased to share a new local support project for families of neurodivergent children in the Malling area. This pilot programme is a collaboration between Involve Kent, Malling Primary Care Network (PCN), and Neurodiversity UK, a social enterprise specialising in coaching and therapeutic support for neurodivergent families.

Starting this July, we’ll be offering a series of free monthly workshops – alternating between in-person sessions in Snodland at 10:00 AM and evening Zoom webinars at 7:00 PM, all held on the second Wednesday of the month. We are beginning with two sessions as part of a trial, with the potential to extend the programme for an additional four months.

What the Workshops Cover

These sessions are based on feedback from local families and co-designed with parents and carers. The two initial workshop themes are:

Empathy and Communication – Building Connection with Your Child

This session helps you explore how your child communicates through behaviour, play, and emotion – especially when words are hard to find. Through hands-on, adult-friendly play and reflection activities, you’ll develop new ways of tuning into your child’s emotional world and responding with empathy. This can support emotional regulation, reduce conflict, and build stronger relationships.

Parental Shame and Empowerment – Reclaiming Confidence in Parenting

This session helps you explore how your child communicates through behaviour, play, and emotion – especially when words are hard to find. Through hands-on, adult-friendly play and reflection activities, you’ll develop new ways of tuning into your child’s emotional world and responding with empathy. This can support emotional regulation, reduce conflict, and build stronger relationships.
