Role Overview

We are looking for a Neurodiversity Workplace Needs Assessor to join our associate team.

You will carry out one-to-one workplace needs assessments with neurodivergent employees and produce clear, practical reports recommending reasonable adjustments. Assessments may support employees with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Tourette’s, or those exploring neurodivergence for the first time.

This role would suit someone who understands neurodiversity in the workplace and can translate a person’s challenges, strengths and working style into practical recommendations for employers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out online neurodiversity workplace needs assessments with employees.
  • Explore the employee’s role, strengths, challenges, working environment and support needs.
  • Identify barriers linked to focus, organisation, memory, workload, communication, sensory needs and emotional regulation.
  • Recommend practical reasonable adjustments, including assistive technology, workflow changes, communication adjustments, flexible working, sensory/environmental changes, coaching or training.
  • Write clear, accessible assessment reports for employees and employers.
  • Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries and accurate records.
  • Work in line with Neurodiversity UK’s policies, values and data protection requirements.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Relevant qualifications in psychology, Occupational psychology or previous experience conducting Neurodiversity focused WorkPlace Needs Assessments 
  • Strong understanding of ADHD, autism and other forms of neurodivergence.
  • Experience carrying out workplace needs assessments, Access to Work assessments, occupational support assessments, or similar work.
  • Good understanding of reasonable adjustments and inclusive workplace practice.
  • Ability to write clear, practical and jargon-free reports.
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence working remotely using video platforms and online systems.

  • Experience using screening tools such as Do It Profiler
  • Knowledge of assistive technology.
  • Experience working with employers, HR teams, occupational health, Access to Work, or workplace inclusion teams.
  • Coaching, occupational psychology, disability support, HR, training, education or workplace wellbeing background.
